City FC Joins NPL South Central League

City FC has been confirmed by the National Premier Leagues as its newest club in the NPL South Central Division.

The South Central Premier League is  the 19th league in US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues (NPL) when it began play in the Fall of 2013.

The South Central Premier League is the newest additions to the NPL platform, with clubs from Oklahoma and Texas set to compete in the U-13 through U-17 boys and girls age groups:

— Blitz United SC (Okla.)

— Dynamos SC (Texas)

— Eclipse SC (Texas)

— Houston Express SC (Texas)

— Liverpool FC America (Texas)

— Space City FC (Texas)

City FC (Texas)

Oklahoma FC (Okla.)

Teams will play each team home and away. Winners of each division will qualify for the NPL Champions Cup, where they will take on top competition from the across the country in a “champions league” competition.

Players in the South Central Premier League will also enjoy multiple avenues to be scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s national team program, via US Club Soccer’s id2 Program and Player Development Programs (PDPs), which are regionally based identification and development programs centered around NPLs.

City FC will hold team tryouts for NPL teams in August. The club is comprised of five clubs working in partnership with each other to better serve soccer families in the DFW metroplex.

- Kernow Storm FC (South DFW and Far West)

- Odyssey SC (Fort Worth and West)

- Triumph FC (Central)

- Mustangs (Dallas Central)

- Tx Spirit SC (North)

Each clubs Coaching Director will represent City FC in their location, Tryouts are for players registered with the affiliated clubs. The tryout process will be conducted through a player ID camp held for at least four weekends. Each NPL team will have a coach that doesn't coach the same age group or gender in their own club in order to make the tryouts as neutral as possible, leaving the players to give their best performances in order to be selected for the team, as opposed to historical knowledge of the player.

Any coaches or teams interested in joining City FC please contact your area director listed on the contact page on this website.
